    Great article Dion. Engagement is the key to all success and digital technology certainly can help in improving individual and collective engagement by improving the work experience and making the connection between the company’s narrative and the individual employee clearer
    It takes more than technology indeed, it takes understanding of how technology is changing the way we organize, relate, work, lead and manage.

    Dion, thanks for a thoughtful piece supported by some hard data. I think everyone will recognize your characterization of “provide and pray” model for rolling out engagement tools. To my mind, technology will never improve employee engagement by itself but it can support and leverage good practice. But we’re not operating in an unchanging environment. The same technology that can support good employee engagement is also the technology that is flooding those same employees with the complex information that’s making them increasingly disengaged. The answer? To improve engagement, employees need both a cultural shift and the tools to do the job.
